What are Muscle Cramps ?.

According to recent surveys, every 5th person of the world’s population is diabetic. Beside of other side effects of Diabetes, Muscle Cramps are  the most painful side effects, even Diabetes is under control for a long time. Diabetes weaken the body muscle specially feet and legs muscles. Cramps usually attack while laying on bed specially when legs are bent. Foot toe are pulled upward or downward and connected nerve passing through leg feel pulled and painful. This is beginning of muscle cramps. Some times the leg muscle cramp is so sever and seems as muscle is being twisted with a plier. I am fighting with muscle cramps since last 15 years. I have tried many medicines . I will explain it in details for your information:

Homeopathic Medicines for Muscle Cramps.

I was sleeping during night when  my foot toe was pulled upward. Nerve connected to toe became hard and painful. I stood up and started walking. I got relief after 15 minutes walk. I came back on  bed . As soon i laid down on bed, cramps started again. I got up and started walking again. I could not sleep whole night.

Next night , cramps started again. I took one doze of homeopathic  medicine ” Magnesia Phos 200 ” in warm water. I felt relief within 10 minutes and i slept well for rest of the night.

This practice of taking homeo medicine continued for around 4 years . During this period, i came to know that :

  1. Cramps start on sudden movements of my feet.
  2. Cramp start when my legs are bent.
  3. Cramps attack on both legs on the same time. Usually one leg is most attacked.
  4. There ae no cramps attack during day time.

After 4 years, Magnesia Phos’ effect was reduced. I started taking another homeo medicine “Cuprum Metalicum 200 ” . It has same effect as Magnesia Phos.

After some time Cuprum Metalicum lost its effects and i switched to Allopathic medicines.

Allopathic Medicine

I consulted to our family doctor who advised me to take the following medicines:

  1. Mecobal tablets 500 mg, 1 tablet daily
  2. Mecobal injection, 2 injections a week

Treatment continued for 3 months. No relief.

In the meantime, I started leg massage  during night daily.

A strange feeling.

During all above treatments, i experienced  a strange feeling in calf of my both legs. There was a continuous uneasiness in my legs all the times. No matter, i am sitting or laying down, i had a feeling if a worm is eating the tissue of my leg . Half eaten tissue fall down and the worm climb up to the next tissue . It continue till i walk or sleep.

Cramps continue, specially in  thigh muscles during sleep. Once muscle was pulled, it was extremely painful. During cramp attack, i have to stand up and start walking.  That time, I can not stretch my leg because muscle  is twisted and it feel if leg has become short. I walk slowly for more  than 20 minutes. Muscle pain remain for almost 3 days.

Muscle used to pull every night. Then i asked my doctor to do some thing . He advised me to check vitamin D3 level in my blood. Deficiency of vitamin D3 is also a cause of cramps. This test was carried out in a laboratory and result was as under :
Vitamin D3 Level       =     18.1ng/ml         (Range-  30-100)
The doctor suggested the following :

  • Injection Vitamin D3 , 250,000  I.U. – 2  in a month
  • Injection Vitamin D3, 125,000  I.U. – 1 injection to be mixed in milk or fruit juice and drink every week.

I completed above injection course, and still no relief.

A miracle happened

Having muscles pulled almost every night, my leg muscles were very painful. One night i asked my grand son to walk over my legs. I thought it might give some relief in pain. He walked over my legs for about 15 minutes. Surprisingly , that night no cramp, and i slept very deep sleep. We carried out this practice and there was no muscle camps. I was so happy. Muscle cramp started again on 5th night.

Qarshi Industries have a health shop near my house. I consulted their Tabib  (Principal of Tabiyyah College, Lahore), who gave me

  • Ginsovit capsule, 1 capsule daily.
  • Hab Azaraqi, 1 tablet daily.

This treatment prolonged for 2 months. Result = nil. Qarshi announced later on  another medicine “Cramocare” .  They claimed it is very effective to cure cramps. I ate these capsule (1 + 1 a day) and I got relief for 4 days, and then my bad luck.

The last hope

Last year i went to Hamdard clinic, Lytton Road, Lahore. I explained my whole history to Hakeem.  He suggested the following:

  1.  Qurs Jawahar Mohra, 2 qurs daily,(before breakfast & before sleep)
  2. Arq Hamdard, 2 Tea spoon with Qurs
  3. Barrisal, 2 Teaspoon after meal, once a day.

I continued to take daily above medicines for 3 months and Thank Al-Mighty Allah, i felt much relief  in muscle cramps. Now a days, i take above medicine occasionally. I sleep well.

What I observed:

  • I get cramps when my feet are cold.
  • Cramp attack us when our legs are bent
  • While sleeping, sudden movement of feet  cause muscle
    cramps.

Now a days, i don’t take any medicine regularly. I take 1 Qurs Jawahar Mohra +  Arq Hamdard twice a week.

Last words

Usually diabetic persons are the easy target of muscle cramps. Keep your Diabetes under control. Walk daily. Avoid bakery items and cola drinks . While sleeping, cover your feet and legs width heavy blanket to keep your feet and legs warm. Move your feet slowly when turning from one side to other side. While stretching the limbs, don’t stretch your feet.

May All-Mighty Allah save all of us from diseases.

Thanks for your comments. In the beginning, writing a blog was a difficult task . I used to write down the headings first. Then start writing on a paper. After completion , i used to read it 2 to 3 times. Think over it to make it near an acceptable blog. Now a days, i chose a topic, write down its heading and start typing on computer. If a new idea or word comes in mind, i insert it at a right place. I spend one or some times two days to make it acceptable. I will not insist to follow me. You might have your own style. Keep writing . Have a nice day.

Thanks for your comments. My blog is a real story of myself. I have a heart problem since 2004. A doctor suggested to take a medicine. This medicine’s ingredient has a side effect. It make the muscles very weak. I was taking daily this medicine for 10 years. Within this period i had very serious muscle cramps . I read the side effects of the medicine. I stopped taking that medicine. And now i feel relaxed. I wrote down what happened to me for the knowledge of others.

  21. Hi there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?
I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at
options for another platform. I would be fantastic if you
could point me in the direction of a good platform.

    1. Sipra World

WP is the favorite platform for 37 % of bloggers. Better you contact your site developer to guide you how to block hackers.
